Rudy D. Anthony was raised in Prince George’s County, MD. After graduating from Charles Herbert Flowers High School in 2006, he attended Prince George’s Community College. After he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point as an Information Systems Technician. After completing his tour of duty, Rudy returned to Bowie, MD. He attended the University of the District of Columbia, obtaining a bachelor's degree in political science, and advancing his career as a Cyber Security Engineer by working for multiple federal agencies.
He is currently pursuing his Masters in Homeland Security. Currently Rudy works as an Identity Access Management subject matter expert. He also is a member of the Maryland longitude data system center governing board appointed by Governor Wes Moore.

Karen Guzmán (Business Development Director) (she/her/ella) is the Director of Community and Economic Development for Prince Geoge’s County Council Member Olson in District 3. Prior to joining the Prince George’s County Council, Karen served as a Parent Community Organizer at Prince George’s County Educators’ Association, where she worked on innovative virtual organizing with core teams of parent/teacher circles in community schools throughout Prince George’s County, Maryland. Karen also served as a Health Services Promoter Peace Corps Volunteer in Inharrime, Mozambique supporting Youth Development, HIV, and Malaria prevention initiatives and treatment retention, specifically amongst women and adolescents.
Before joining the Peace Corps, Karen worked at Partners of the Americas, where she streamlined and managed the organization’s grassroots volunteer network and higher educational institution portfolio. Karen began her career as a Community Organizer for United We Dream Affiliate Organizations in Maryland, advocating for immigration rights on a national and local level. She is passionate about data-driven results, social justice issues, advocacy, and empowering others.
Karen holds a B.A. in Sociology and minors in U.S. Latino/a Studies and International Development and Conflict Management from the University of Maryland-College Park. She is a proud Bolivian- American and Prince George’s County resident. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and writing poetry.
Derek Blackwell is a native of Washington, D.C. and spent most of his childhood there until the age of 12. While there, he attended Whittier elementary and Paul Public Charter middle school. Derek Blackwell is a native of Washington, D.C. and spent most of his childhood there until the age of 12. While there, he attended Whittier elementary and Paul Public Charter middle school. After moving from D.C. to Capitol Heights, Maryland. Blackwell decided to pursue his interest in politics by studying political science at Bowie State university once he finished middle school and G. James Gholson and Central Senior High School. Blackwell graduated college in May 2021, earning his degree in political science.
Soon after, Blackwell secured an internship called Coro located in Pittsburgh, PA. This opportunity allowed Blackwell to expand his network, learn about people from other walks of life, work across all different employment sectors, and most importantly, grow as a leader.
Currently, Blackwell works in the Maryland General Assembly as Chief of Staff to Delegate Ashanti Martinez working for the good citizens of Prince George’s County. Apart from his role on PGCYD, Blackwell also serves on the Maryland Young Democrats Programming committee.
Ralph Cyrus serves as the Vice President of Programming. He is an alum of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, holding a bachelor’s degree in political science & legal policy. During his career, he has worked in legislative offices in the U.S. Senate and Maryland General Assembly, and coordinated with multiple campaigns throughou

During his career, he has worked in legislative offices in the U.S. Senate and Maryland General Assembly, and coordinated with multiple campaigns throughout Maryland. He has also supported community nonprofits in the Washington metro area in donor and member management.
In his professional capacity, he works at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition in Membership and Events. Ralph is passionate about tackling food insecurity and food desserts. Ralph enjoys gogo, Washington sports teams, and cooking.
